   The law in our country requires you to supply goods of satisfactory quality.Due to the faults I have detailed above and the short period of time I have had the item,I consider you to be in breach of contract.I hereby reject the item,as it is not of satisfactory quality and claim a refund of the full purchase price from you.

Our forefathers had no idea that human population would increase faster the supplies of raw material;most of them,even until very recently,had the foolish idea that the treasures were “limitless”and“inexhaustible”.

     For the sake of those who will come after us and ourselves,we must now set about questioning the ideas of our forefathers.To know about the water table in the ground is just as important to us as knowledge of the basic arithmetic formulas.we need to know why all atersheds need the protection of plant life and why the running current of streams and rivers must be made to yield their full benefit,to the soil before they finally escape to the sea.We need to be taugh the duty of planting trees as well as cutting them.

      Conservation should,therefore,be made part of everyone’s daily life.In brief,it should be our goal torestore as much the original beauty nature as we can.

 Plastic Surgery

Plastic surgery is becoming more and more popular in different parts of the world.Since modern medicine can change anywhere in one’s body,including eyes,nose,face,weight,and height,more and more people take it in order to look more attractive.With the help of it,one may even change his/her gender.News has reported inter-sex people changing their gender.

On one hand,plastic surgery is advantageous.Some people are born with defective organs.They can hardly live a normal life unless they have a plactic surgery to improve them.Besides,beauty can increase the confidence of a person,especially girls.If a girl is not pleasantly looking, she may be very shy and diffident in public.So if she could become more beautiful,she would become more confident.Third,a beautiful appearance may change one’s career and then change one’s destiny.So it can help one to fulfill his or her dreams.

  On the other hand,some people may disapprove of taking plastic surgery.They think that transplant patients face many risks.They have to take strong drugs to prevent their bodies from rejecting the new transplant.Drugs may cause diseases like kidney problems,diabetes,or even death.Besides,they believe that although plastic surgery can help make people become beautiful,it is a artificial.As our appearances are given by our parents,we should keep our appearance,otherwise we would lose our identities and our features.In a word,people should not be concerned too much about their outward appearance or physical beauty.Inner beauty is the most important.

Cell Phones and College Students

Cel phones are playing an increasingly important role in people’s life in China,and college students nowadays benefit a lot from their access to cell phones.I t is very convenient for students who are far away from home to contact their parents via cell phones.Moreover,with the help of cell phones, they can communicate with their teachers,friends and other people freely,which promotes their connection with the outside world and broadens their horizons.

   However,problems may arise out of college students’ use of cell phones.For one thing,cell phones may become a distraction in class.It is possible that the cell phone users cannot give their full attention to the teacher,but are busy with the cell phones,either sending short messages or playing video games.For another,students’ buying and using cell phone may burden their parents with extra exprense.

   In my eyes ,it is unnecessary for every student to possess a cell phone,since they can easily find a public telephone on campus,or use the telephone installed in their dorms.Even though some students own cell phones,they should use them in a proper way.In a word,cell phones have made college life more colorful and interesting,but they should not interfere with students’study.

People’s Plans for the Coming Golden Week

   Another golden week is approaching,and how do people plan to spend the holiday?As we can see from the table,about 43% of people choose to stay home while only about 15% will go traveling.Besides,about26.5% of people decide to visit friends or go shopping.In the meanwhile,people who will work and marry occupy about 12% and 2% respectively.

   Why do a large percentage of people tend to stay home instead of traveling?A few factors may account for the result of the survey.To begin with,in the golden week,overcrowded scenic spots and soaring traveling expenses often discourage tourists from going out for sightseeing.Furthermore,the golden week offers a good opportunity to people who have been busy working to have a rest or to transact their own business such as marrying and shopping.

   To make the golden week more enjoryable and interesting,we should keep a good balance in the activities in which we participate.For instance,we may make a trip along with our friends of three or four days,and then stay home to have a rest in the rest of the week and prepare for the work after the weeklong holiday.

My View on Opening Psychological Courses

  Recently,more and more educators and common citizens suggest that universities and

colleges open more courses which are helpful for students’psychologica health.Personally,I fully agree with proposal for the following reasons.

   On the one hand, the ever-increasing pressure of study at the moment and job-hunting in the future may lead to many psychological problems such as anxiety,depression and even despair,and the psychological courses open a door for communication and relaxation.On the other hand,such courses can teach students how to regulate feelings and emotions under different situations ,which is a goodd preparation for the futre life in the complex social network.Finally,these courses also introduce good habits which are conducive to mental and psychiological health.To be mature and qualified citizens in the society,students have to do more than studying hard.

   In a word,I warmly welcome the establishment of psychological courses in universities.In my opinion,they are good for students’ psychological development.

Haste Makes Waste

   There is a famous saying,“Haste makes waste”,which means you should not be too hasty while doing things.If you want to be successful,you should pay attention to not only speed but also quality.

   A case in point is writing research paper.Conducting scientific reseach requires careful planning and great patience.You cannot make scientific breakthroughs in a short time just as Rome was not built in a day.Similarly, you can never writer a good reseach paper unless you concentrate on what you are doing and have a right attitude towards failure.

   When it comes to painting,it is also the case.Only after years of training and practice can you hope to learn the essence of painting.You can never hope to make great progress in a short time.

   From what   has been discussed above,we should understand the meaning of “Haste makes waste”more clearly.On the one hand,we should set an aim and be determined to fulfill it.On the other hand,we should not always be in a hurry.The best way is to have a concrete plan and put it to practice step by step.

Rush for Postgraduate Study

Nowadays more and more graduates decide to pursue postgraduate studay on the eve of their praduation.From the chart we can see that in 2000,there were only 290,000 applicants participating in the exam.The recent statistics show that the applicants have increased greatly with a total number of 797,000 in 2003 and 945,000 in 2004.

  The great change which has taken place is chiefly due to the following reasons.First,college graduates have to face a tight job market,which is increasingly competitive because a huge number of them will go job-hunting.Cofronted with the tough job-seeking,more and more graduates turn to further education for a better future.In addition,there are also a number of students who really want to continue their studies at graduate schools to deepen their knowledge in a particular field.

  In may opinion,receiving further education is a good solution for the college graduates who have difficulty in finding jobs.But only working hard during their postgraduate study,could they have a better future.

Marriage of Students On-campus

    The government’s allowance that college students may married triggers a controversial debate:is it sensible to legalize on-campus marriange?Some people welcome this new development,which others have expressed their concern about it.

   Those who take sides against this new trend believe that married students will inevitably have less time and engery for their academic life because they heve more real-life problems to deal with than those unmarried ones.

   One common argument,however,for on-campus students’ marriage is that a number of students do have a desire for an ideal marriage.Now that they have come of age ,they are entitled to such happiness.

   I’m in favor of the former.On-campus students are laden with academic tasks.If they getmarried now,they have o work much harder than any other student because they have to solve their financial problems at the same time.
